Best Seller! Made from wild berries. Boasting a sweet-tart flavor, it's a Great Plains specialty. 7.5 oz.
Chokecherries are very high in antioxidant pigment compounds. It is found in many different habitat types; typically open woodlands, prairie hillsides, rocky bluffs, canyons, roadsides, streams, and springs. Officially named the fruit of North Dakota by Governor John Hoeven in 1997.
I grew up in ND and my grandparents and parents picked wild chokecherries. Mom and Grandma made chokecherry jelly as did most of their friends. I grew up having this wonderful treat on my bread often. This chokecherry jelly brings me back to those days and it is so good! I may sound strange, but my favorite sandwich used to be chokecherry jelly, Cloverdale "Tangy" all beef summer sausage and longhorn cheese - yes, all together. It was great!
I thought I had purchased this chokecherry jam previously from this website, but I was wrong. The last one (from a different company) was much *much* more tart and less sweet.
This was so sweet, it might as well have been the generic Bonne Maman from the store :/
Since moving away from ND I have had a hard time (as in NO luck whatever) finding chokecherry jam. It is so nice that I can order from you and get it whenever I want.
been my favorite since I was two years old and now I don't have to pick the berries
I grew up in ND and my mother and grandmother made chokecherry jam every year. It has always been my favorite jelly. I now live in SC and there are no chokecherries here so I am delighted I can order chokecherry jam and syrup and relive the wonderful taste.
I love Products from North Dakota & I love Chokecherry
We ordered 3 varieties of jams for Christmas for relatives in California who were originally from North Dakota. They were so thrilled to have a real taste of home. When you grow up eating these jams you are always looking for them. They were so pleased with them - they could not wait for Christmas to try them.
I have purchased this jelly several times and it perfect each time. The taste is exactly what I remember as a child.
Only my mom's would be better! This is the best in the Pride of Dakota.
